Lies of the Light

Fret not, love, I am still here,
Beyond the realm of sound and sight!
If I am among those that you hold dear
You’ll see me in the lies of the light.

O, lies of the light,
O, song without sound!
In reality’s domain, I will na’ be found.
To drum without drumming,
To seek without sight,

I’ll be in the lies of the light.

Hold me close and say you’ll remember
The way our hearts beat in the night.
For it’s time to go, my dearest pretender
Away from the lies of the light.

O, lies of the light,
O, tune without name!
My world without you will na’ be the same.
To drum without drumming,
To day out of night,

Alone in the lies of the light.

To love you and hold you, my only desire,
To again see the moon in your eyes,
And catch sight of mine own, reflected in fire
In that hid-away place where the light tells its lies.

O, lies of the light,
O, cry without voice!
For here we must part, but have we no choice?
To drum without drumming,
To soar without flight,

I cry in the lies of the light.

Carry me with you away from this world
And together we’ll go where we might,
Hap’ly we’ll glide with sails unfurled
Into the lies of the light!

O, lies of the light,
O love without bound!
No strife, no hardship, no hate to be found!
We’ll fly without flying
To heights above height,
Together…

In the lies of the light.
